ETS 2017 Awards Ceremony

This Friday, Edinburgh Theological Seminary (ETS) will hold their annual Award Ceremony in Edinburgh.
The ceremony will take place in the newly refurbished St Columba’s Free Church at the top of the Royal Mile.
As an acknowledgement of the hard work by all students of the seminary, various achievement awards are being presented across all courses. ETS run various courses including the Bachelor of Theology and Master of Theology programs.
The evening will conclude with refreshments and visitors are warmly welcomed to attend by ETS to show their support for the students and staff.
Iver Martin, ETS Principal, will give the main address on the evening; his theme will be “The World On Our Doorstep”. He will also use the occasion to encourage those students who are graduating and moving on to serve within the Free Church or within the wider Christian church.

“The closing ceremony is the highlight of our academic year and the culmination of a lot of hard work by all the staff and students. We like to take the opportunity to acknowledge those who are leaving us to pursue their positions in Christian ministry and other Gospel work,” said Iver Martin.
ETS are also in the initial stages of creating a Mission Centre within their Edinburgh offices. They hope this will serve congregations as well as existing ministers and students by offering them access to current courses that will support them in their mission work.
This year will also see ETS mark the retirement of Prof. John MacIntosh. John was appointed the chair of Church History in 2005 after having served as the minister in Lochgilphead and Poolewe and Aultbea Free Churches.
The ETS Prospectus is available to view for those interested in further study.
